Environment Correspondent, Richard Black, reported for BBC Radio 4 in September on proposals to dispose of higher activity radioactive waste.
He travelled to Eurajoki in Finland, where the local council decided seven years ago that it would like to see the waste from the country's nuclear reactors buried there in an underground facility. He also attended one of the West Cumbria MRWS Partnership’s meetings.
Richard Black’s found that ‘the key to disposing of high-level nuclear waste appears to be not technology, or terrain - but trust’.
